Service Academy Appointments

While the US Coast Guard Academy does not require a Congressional Nomination, the other four US Service Academies do. There are three Congressional Representatives for Cobb County as well as the two Senators for the State of Georgia to which a student may apply for a nomination. The deadlines for these nominations are usually in late September or early October.  The student must live in the Congressional district if a nomination is requested by one of the three representatives.

The Class of 2024 applications for all US Service Academies have opened.  Interested students should create an online student account for their desired Service Academy, begin working on the essays required by the applications or by the Representative or Senator, prepare for the physical fitness test required by each of the Academies and start assembling the letters of recommendation needed for each application.  If a student wishes to be considered for an NCAA sport at a Service Academy and they meet the minimum requirements for admission, visit the athletic site and find the recruiting page.
